Azerty
With a strong focus on service, Azerty allows customers to make last-minute changes to orders. If they forget to add a component or need additional software, no problem. This flexibility enables Azerty to work closely with its audiences, delivering excellence and embodying its strapline of “only the best”.
Yet Azerty’s e-commerce technology was letting the business down. The custom-built platform just couldn’t cope with demands. It was obsolete and needed to be migrated. And with a product catalog that contains more than 300.000 items this was not going to be a simple migration.
Fortunately, Youwe was appointed to transform the aging platform into a powerful Magento webshop (now known as Adobe Commerce), delivering the exceptional user experience that Azerty’s customer base demands.
Our solution
Azerty’s strapline is “only the best”, and that’s exactly what Youwe delivered. With such a comprehensive product catalog, Azerty needed a wide range of core functionalities to deliver an intuitive user experience. Youwe began by focusing on providing valuable product information.
We improved product filtering using Elasticsearch, which allows users to run complex search queries and receive accurate product results at a very detailed level. We also added information icons and USPs, providing an extra layer of valuable information to encourage purchases. In addition, badges were added at the SKU level, allowing similar products to be grouped easily for campaigns. And as the Azerty website operates as a B2B e-commerce offering, as well as B2C, VAT toggles were implemented to make life easier for the B2B users.
During such a major implementation, and with the previous site developed on custom-built legacy systems, complications need to be anticipated. During platform migration there were severe problems with data integration, as there was an incompatibility between the source data and Magento. After using the PIM system in a slick way it became compatible. Youwe built a robust integration between the PIM and ERP systems, and luckily the project stayed on track.
As Azerty’s strong focus on customer service is central to the company’s offering, we designed the website to allow customers to make last minute changes to orders. But we also radically improved the process of returning products. To keep things simple, return requests now come in through the ERP, and customers can easily report their own return requests through the platform, or Azerty can initiate them through Navision. What’s more, multiple products coming from different orders can now be returned simultaneously.
The results
Thanks to Youwe, Azerty now has a slicker, smoother and far more intuitive e-commerce website, gearing up the business for the future. It has all the benefits of a robust, powerful platform, without losing any of that Azerty feeling or the brand characteristics. And with the implementation of Adobe Recommendations, product lists can now be served up dynamically to appeal to different audience segments.
Customers are greeted by the products that are most likely to be of interest to them, presenting upsell opportunities and strengthening sales. Azerty and Youwe have forged a strong commercial friendship, and are now strategic partners, opening the door to further improvements and a future filled with many online successes.
