Strategic consulting, design, development, integration
Youwe's design team created a new brand style and user experience that was launched alongside the new B2B2C Magento platform.
Quooker is a thought leading Dutch manufacturer of boiling water taps. Founded in 1970, the company nowaday's sells over 110.000 units each year. Quooker is also sold in the UK, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and the Emirates and distributed through more than 2.500 dealers. The company's turnover doubles every 2 years. Through the new online platform, Quooker has evolved from a B2B manufacturer to a B2B2C company, serving the client directly through its web portal. The digital transformation was needed for Quooker because of tightening competition and rising customer demands. By using a smart store locator, Quooker uses its websites to drive traffic to its reseller network, thereby soothing the channel conflict emerging from an online approach targeting end users. However, they do sell accessories directly to consumers online.

Channel conflict tackled
Magento offered Quooker a way to showcase their brand and the functionalities of their product on a responsive, design-oriented site that would offer a great user experience. The possibilities to integrate with a PIM system and their own ERP system in addition to the many available plugins and possibilities to tailor functionalities such as a store-locator as well as the opportunity to launch a website in a bespoke design created by Youwe's design team were crucial to the decision. The brand moreover was convinced by the flexible CMS, mobile-friendly configuration, Advanced SEO and multi-lingual and multi-currency support.
Modules including the store locator and payment interfaces were built using the Magento Marketplace. On top of that, Youwe developed some extra features. The modular setup of Magento allowed us to extend the platform in a way that it stays easy to maintain. Moreover, Youwe built an integration with Quooker's ERP system (AX) and with the Product Information Management platform Pimcore.
Quooker is a B2B company which transformed into a B2B2C business by starting to serve end customers on its website. This demanded a different approach and strategy. An additional challenge was the channel conflict, meaning that dealers were not happy about Quooker directly approaching the end customer. This is why the platform also offers a store-locator, driving traffic to the dealers. Customers can now easily access information, while sales traffic is still drawn to the distributor network.
The Quooker case is a great example of how real-time integrations with the ERP and PIM system, a user-friendly, attractive design and features including a store-locator blend together into one seamless, harmonious retail experience for both the B2B as the B2C stakeholders of the manufacturer.
Through the new online platform, customer convenience has increased significantly. Using the product configurator and store locator, customers can prepare their visit to a store while getting inspired by the products, beautiful design and user experience. The customer journey on the website is now more meaningful and connects Quooker's brand values to the actual experience offered to the end user. Moreover, customers can order accessories and add-ons online (such as CO2 cartridges for sparkling water, etc), which adds convenience to their use of the Quooker product. For the retailers, the store locator also adds value as interested customers are immediately able to locate the nearest vendors.
