Solution

Youwe rebuilt Desch Plantpak's product information foundation and delivered a new headless brand experience on top. Product data, digital assets and a multilingual site now work as one connected platform for professional horticulture and retail audiences.

Desch Plantpak and Youwe partnered to replace an ageing Pimcore 4 environment with a modern Pimcore X PIM and DAM, and to deliver a new public website on a headless Next.js front end. The live brand experience is at https://www.desch.nl.

The result is a connected product and content platform. Product information, media and customer-facing experiences stay aligned. Buyers and partners can explore pots, trays and brand stories with clear structure, search and filters, while Desch’s teams manage content and catalogue data in one recognisable Pimcore workspace.

Client context: Desch Plantpak produces pots and trays from recycled plastic for professional horticulture and retail. Public brands and lines such as Grow&Go, Recover and D-TectPlus support a sustainability and circular-economy story that Desch tells in its own voice. Customers expect clear specifications, inspiring combinations and a brand experience that matches the quality of the products.

Challenge: Desch’s previous Pimcore 4 setup had carried the business for years. As catalogue, content and channel needs grew, the organisation needed a modern foundation that could support a richer website, cleaner product operations and stronger links to ERP and warehouse data. Desch needed to move to Pimcore X with a fit-for-purpose data model and DAM, migrate existing information, keep redirects under control, and launch a modern headless storefront that still felt unmistakably Desch. Multilingual content and visitor language selection had to remain part of the experience, without forcing teams into fragmented tooling.

Our solution

Connected operations, room to grow

Behind the public site, the platform is wired into how Desch actually sells. Links to ERP and warehouse data help keep what appears online closer to real sellability and publish status, and product imagery can follow the same operational rhythm. Redirects and careful URL stewardship protected existing paths through go-live, so the move to the new experience did not throw away discoverability Desch had already earned.

The result is a scalable base for further channels. Desch now has a product and experience foundation that can support richer journeys tomorrow without restarting from an ageing stack. Technology stays in service of that outcome: a clearer brand site for horticulture and retail, and a calmer way for Desch teams to keep product truth, assets and stories in sync.
