Scaling Chadwicks product data with Pimcore & AI
Chadwicks Group, an Irish builders’ merchant with over 200 years of history, operates more than 50 branches nationwide. With thousands of products sourced from diverse suppliers, the challenge was clear: how to manage and enrich vast amounts of product data efficiently, while keeping accuracy high and manual effort low.
Partnering with Youwe, Chadwicks upgraded their Pimcore platform and piloted AI-powered enrichment. By transforming supplier data workflows and building on Pimcore Enterprise as the foundation, Chadwicks set the stage for scalable product management, better customer experiences, and a growing set of AI use cases. In production, that foundation now includes ACI Weave: a governed workflow from Pimcore to Weave and back, so product data and images can be enriched and returned to PIM under control.

Our solution
Data quality & enrichment
With Pimcore at the core, Chadwicks introduced rules for product data quality and built-in validation checks. A flagging system helps highlight missing or inconsistent details, while enrichment tools improve product descriptions and standardize naming conventions, vital for consistency across 50+ branches and multiple brands.
AI enrichment pilot (Spider)
In collaboration with Youwe, Chadwicks tested AI-driven enrichment with the enrichment agent Spider on Pimcore. The proof of concept showed how AI could suggest attributes, improve product categorization, and even support data clean-up. The success of this pilot paved the way for Pimcore Enterprise with AI co-pilot features and for production enrichment on the ACI Weave platform.
Group-wide integration
Chadwicks’ digital strategy extends beyond one brand. When group companies Cork Builders Providers and Telfords needed new eCommerce functionality and focus, Pimcore was adapted to onboard the new entities. This ability to scale and integrate new businesses quickly ensures Chadwicks can grow without losing control of product data quality.
