Acaza / Mobistoxx
Back in 2014, Mobistoxx engaged Youwe to optimize its e-commerce platform. Shortly after, the business acquired another online furniture retailer, Acaza, which presented a whole new raft of challenges. Multiple Magento (now known as Adobe Commerce) installations needed to be merged and PIM systems required unification. It was a high priority, business-critical assignment.
Youwe was on hand to make the necessary improvements. It merged the Mobistoxx and Acaza Magento installations into a single platform, redesigned and built using Youwe’s proprietary best practice e-commerce framework. Youwe also harnessed Akeneo product information management (PIM) software to improve the customer experience. This also provided a single place to collect, manage and enrich product information, distributing it with ease across all Mobistoxx and Acaza sales and e-commerce channels.
Both shops appear to be two separate entities, yet they are built and operated from one single platform. And with more than 10,000 SKUs, quick and easy administration was a key requirement for Mobistoxx. From successful beginnings, Youwe continues to advise on, implement and oversee major e-commerce improvements.
Our solution
Youwe brought together Magento 1 installations, upgrading them to the Magento 2 platform and merging them into a single platform deployment. That initial transformation has produced a long and successful partnership, during which Youwe has advised on strategic direction and regular platform improvements.
Over the years, Youwe has shaped the e-commerce experience for Mobistoxx, leading to improved e-commerce results and a heightened customer experience.
As well as a full redesign of the Mobistoxx Magento 2 platform and the introduction of a robust product information management system, Youwe introduced its ‘second chance products’ extension. This has allowed Mobistoxx to give returned products a second life, introducing a new revenue steam, while delivering savings to customers and lessening the impact on the environment too.
A custom module has also been implemented, allowing Mobistoxx customers to add insurance to their shopping cart while going through checkout.
The results
It’s been more than eight years since Mobistoxx first engaged Youwe. From those early days, there have been many continuous improvements. And although e-commerce has changed, almost beyond recognition, Mobistoxx continues to delight its customers.
A reliable, user-friendly platform has been carefully crafted, with regular iterations that keep customers at the center of the technology. Page speed improvements of nearly 50% have been achieved using the next-generation Magento 2 MagePack module. Plus, load times have been significantly reduced for filter results on product overview pages, thanks to Tweakwise Ajax filtering.
Content is also now delivered in multiple languages, with Dutch, Belgian and French versions of the website being served up. It’s been an exciting eight years. We’re looking forward to discovering what the next eight years will bring.
