Although Body & Fit started with two physical stores in 1995, they have been a pure player online since 2007. Ever since, they have become the market leader for sports nutrition, nutritional supplements and diet products in the Netherlands. But they weren’t ready to stop there: "Ultimately, we want to conquer the whole world as The Fit People's Supermarket," says ICT manager Fritjof Haalboom. With Belgium, France and Germany bringing in about 15% of orders, the focus on bringing in more international customers was clear.
For almost ten years, Body & Fit had used a custom solution, which turned out not to be scalable over time. This is why they came to Youwe - for a scalable solution that was the perfect fit.
While the brands' own products are sold like hot cakes in the Netherlands, the company sells a relatively large number of external brands abroad. This is because Body & Fit chooses to build up market share and brand awareness in new markets before presenting its own range. "Foreign consumers are not necessarily more difficult to persuade, but in the Netherlands, we have simply progressed. Fortunately, we notice that foreign consumers who have already ordered from us several times are also curious about the Body & Fit products. We expect that our brand will also quickly do well abroad. "

Our solution
Body & Fit was looking for a flexible platform with a fast time-to-market, with the possibility of presenting tens of thousands of products. Because of the flexibility of the platform, the fast time-to-market and the possibility to present tens of thousands of products, Body & Fit chose Magento Commerce. The good reputation of the software and the option to create multi-stores that are easy to operate from one database were important features.
The results
With global ambitions, Youwe and Magento helped Body & Fit scale up to serve the Belgian, German and French markets. Body & Fit's range consists of many thousands of products. And when it comes to food, they are often also available in different flavors or variations. "All in all, this creates a huge mountain of data, which must be used as structured as possible, which is possible in Magento.” Next to this, the new platform increased Body & Fit's mobile conversions with 40%, and their overall conversion with 15%.
"On a regular day, we process 6000 orders, last Monday, with Magento Commerce, we were able to process 7500. That sounds like a lot, which it is. But when you make sure you have your processes streamlined, it is all very well manageable," says Fritjof Haalboom
